Zanker is the leader in recycling C&D debris in the Bay Area and we comply with every city’s diversion program for C&D. To learn more about what your City requires, you should contact your specific City since requirements vary from one City to the next.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) and Build It Green are Green Building Rating Systems that encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
Zanker can provide a confirmation letter, to our customers, stating that materials transported to Zanker Road Landfill and/or the Zanker Materials Recovery Facility in San Jose were recycled and/or reused in conjunction with the requirements of LEED® and Build it Green, although third-party certification is still required. Zanker’s overall recycling rate is currently averaging 81%. This recycling rate is determined by the total tons of incoming materials divided by the total tons of wastes disposed, for both facilities and averaged over the last 12-months.
If more detailed information is needed, the gate tags and/or invoices can be used to determine a more refined diversion rate based on the recycling rate of each material type processed at the facilities.
